Here ya go. A fresh, not overblown new sound from Junior Rodriguez:

3. Me Volvi A Enamorer
4. Me Solto En Banda
5. Mirandote
6. Amigos
7. Mensaje
8. El Ombliguito
9. Dame tu Corazon
10. Yo fui el Primero
11. La Arepa
As my high school Spanish is a little rusty, I can't tell you much about Junior. Both the
cd case and his label's website are only in Spanish. Is he an established singer? Is this
his debut release? Well, ultimately it hardly matters, right? What counts are the
samples at the label's site. Just a couple, but enough to get you going.
Junior doesn't go in for the supreme glitz and glamour that many of the main Latin acts
are attempting these days. No shower of horns and voices for this guy. Mainly, his
sound is a single, crooning tenor-length voice in front of the never-stopping bongo
rhythm and tiny guitar sound.
Relaxing. Easy. Romantic. There's something very 1950s about the way he puts
together a tune. No, not La Bamba rock. Definitely the Latin edge, but more of a retro
sound that I must say sounds newer than older to these well-worn ears.
